Borrowing Points Question - After Resale Purchase

Hello,

I have a question regarding purchasing DVC resale. I have researched a lot, but not sure I've completely found the answer to what I'm looking for.

If I purchase a DVC resale would I immediately be allowed to borrow points from the following year (2014). For example, a resale that I'm looking for has all the points used for 2013 (Oct). If I purchased this resale, would I be able to borrow the Oct 2014 points and use them in 2013 once the transfer is finialized?

Once you own it, you can do what you want. Those points would need to be used before Oct otherwise you would lose them... I have once borrowed, and they stay in the year they are borrowed.

The contract has no Oct2012 or Oct2013 points? That's pretty stripped and you had better be getting a really good price.

Anyway, you would be able to borrow Oct2014 points for a trip occurring in your Oct2013 use year which would be after Oct 1, 2013. As DisneyRox said, once your borrow them, you cannot return them.

Yeah, I'm looking at all the options.

So as I understand it; if I borrowed points from OCT 2014 this year, I would have to use them (actually take the trip) by Oct 2013 or I wouldn't be able to use them (take actual trip) until after Oct 2013 and use them by Oct 2014?

If you borrowed Oct 2014 points they could be used for a trip between Oct 1, 2013 and Sept 30, 2014.
