Dec. 31, 1983 – The Disney TV show “The Wise One” aired for the first time in Canada.
Dec. 31, 1990 – The Disneyland show “Dick Tracy Starring in Diamond Double Cross” closed in Videopolis.
Dec. 31, 1992 – The “8Trax”nightclub opened at Pleasure Island in WDW.
Dec. 31, 1994 – WDW’s New Year’s Eve entertainment included Buster Poindexter, Fleetwood Mac, Peabo Bryson, and the Marshall Tucker Band at Pleasure Island.
Dec. 31, 1995 – The “World of Motion” Pavilion in Epcot at WDW closed. The attraction had 24 scenes and 188 Audio-Animatronic figures. (It would be replaced by Test Track.)
Dec. 31, 1997 – This year’s New Year’s Eve Party and midnight fireworks display over Sleeping Beauty Castle were broadcast live from Disneyland as part of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin Eve ’98 on ABC-TV.
Dec. 31, 1998 – The Teen Idol Tour, (including Bobby Sherman, Davy Jones, and Peter Noone) came to the Disney-MGM Studios for 2 evening performances.
Dec. 31, 1998 – A concert, featuring Huey Lewis & The News, Sister Hazel, and Rick Springfield took place at Pleasure Island at WDW.
Dec. 31, 1998 – Disney’s internal staff newsletter “Eyes and ears” announced that Epcot’s “Horizon’s” would close to guests in nine days.
Dec. 31, 1999 – Disney’s “Fantasia 2000” was generally released in the U.S.
