Dec. 16, 1974 – The Disney film “The Island at the Top of the World” was released in England. (U.S. release was Dec. 20, 1974)
Dec. 16, 1977 – The Disney live-action feature “Candleshoe,” starring Jodie Foster as Casey Brown, Helen Hayes as Lady St. Edmund, and David Niven playing 3 roles including the part of Priory, was released. (General release was Feb. 10, 1978)
Dec. 16, 1978 – Disney’s animated short “The Small One” was released.
Dec. 16, 1979 – The Disney television show “Major Effects” aired.
Dec. 16, 1983 – Disney’s Mickey Mouse cartoon “Mickey’s Christmas Carol” was released. It was Mickey’s first appearance since “The Simple Things” in 1953.
Dec. 16, 1983 – The very first “Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party” debuted in the Magic Kingdom at WDW.
Dec. 16, 1989 – The “One Man’s Dream” show opened at Videoplolis at Disneyland. (Closed Apr. 29, 1990)
Dec. 16, 1990 – “Disney Channel Christmas” aired on the Disney Channel.
Dec. 16, 1990 – The “ABC Commissary” Restaurant opened at Disney-MGM Studios at WDW.
Dec. 16, 1991 – The Disney TV movie “In the Nick of Time” aired on NBC.
