Dec. 7, 1989 – “The Little Mermaid,” Disney’s 28th animated feature, was released in Argentina.
Dec. 7, 1992 – Disneyland had to close due to heavy rains.
Dec. 7, 1997 – The first (of what will be 4) official “Toad Ins” took place at WDW’S Fantasyland. Toad fans peacefully converged on the park wearing matching green Save Toad t-shirts to show their support for the “Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride” attraction (which was scheduled to close.)
Dec. 7, 1997 – The Wonderful World of Disney aired “Rudyard Kiplings The Jungle Book” on ABC-TV.
Dec. 7, 1997 – Disney Channel debuted a new episode of “Muppets Tonight.” (Titled “The Cameo Show,” the Muppets searched frantically for a host after Bobo the Bear accidentally killed Arsenio Hall, the original guest star! Jay Leno, Kevin Eubanks, Little Richard, Christopher Darden, and Kathy Ireland made cameos.)
Dec, 7, 1998 – The cover of TIME featured “100 Builders & Titans” with photos of Henry Ford, Walt Disney, Akio Morita, and Bill Gates against a background of construction workers.
Dec. 7, 1999 – Cynthia Harris was named president of the Disneyland Resort.
Dec. 7, 1999 – Disney’s “Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas” was released direct-to-video.
Dec. 7, 2001 – The Lizzie McGuire episode “The Courtship of Miranda Sanchez” debuted on the Disney Channel.
Dec. 7, 2001 – The Disney Channel Original Movie “Twas the Night” aired for the first time.
