Dec. 2, 1981 – Pop star Britney Jean Spears, a member of the 90’s TV show “The All New Mickey Mouse Club,” was born in Kentwood, Louisiana.
Dec. 2, 1984 – Margarita Granados (20 years old) gave birth to a baby girl in Disneyland.
Dec. 2, 1988 – KCAL (earlier known as KHJ) Channel 9, a television station in Los Angels, Ca. was acquired by Disney.
Dec. 2, 1988 – The “Company D” cast member store opened at Disneyland.
Dec. 2, 1989 – The Disney Channel Premiere Film “Spooner” aired.
Dec. 2, 1990 – Actor Bob Cummings, who helped host the grand opening of Disneyland in 1955, passed away in Woodland Hills, Ca. (Cummings is the godson of airplane co-inventor Orville Wright.)
Dec. 2, 1997 – On this day Disney films would begin being released on DVD’s.
Dec. 2, 1999 – The “Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party” began in the Magic Kingdom at WDW. (Dates: 2,3,6,9,13,16, and 17th)
Dec. 2, 1999 – The “Candlelight Processional” began in Epcot at WDW. This years narrators included Angela Bassett (Dec. 2
- 4), Brian Dennehy (Dec. 5 –7), James Avery (Dec. 11 – 13), James McDaniel (Dec. 17 – 19), Andy Garcia
(Dec. 20 – 22), Sandi Patty (Dec. 23 – 25), David Ogden Stiers (Dec. 26 – 28), LeVar Burton (Dec. 29 – 30),
and others.
Dec. 2, 2000 – “Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party” began at the Magic Kingdom in WDW and would run until Dec. 17th.
