Nov. 18, 1997 – The CD “The Lion King – Original Broadway Cast Recording” was released worldwide.
Nov. 18, 1998 – Disney announced the completion of the acquisition of 43% of the Infoseek Corp.
Nov. 18, 2001 – The Wonderful World of Disney aired “The Facts of Life Reunion,” a gathering of the Stars from the 1979-1988 sitcom.
Nov. 18, 2001 – The “TriceraTop Spin” attraction opened in Disney’s Animal Kingdom at WDW.
Nov. 18, 2003 – The Magic Kingdom at WDW unveiled 75 6-foot tall statues of Mickey Mouse in honor of his 75th birthday. The “Celebrate Mickey: 75 InspEARations,” were brought together by Disney Legends, artist, actors, athletes, and musicians.
Nov. 18, 2003 – The Disney Channel was launched in Japan.
Nov. 18, 2003 – Michelle Williams (of Destiny’s Child) joined the Broadway cast of Disney’s “Aida.” Williams took over the lead role from Toni Braxton, and would appear in the show for the next ten weeks.
Nov. 18, 2005 – “Club Cool,” sponsored by Coca-Cola, officially opened in Epcot at WDW.
Nov. 18, 2006 – The holiday show “Mickey’s Night Before Christmas” began performances for the holiday season in the Magic Kingdom at WDW.
Nov. 18, 2006 – The five-thousand square foot interactive exhibit “Too Small to See” opened at Epcot’s Innoventions. Developed by Cornell University and supported by the National Science Foundation, the exhibit surrounds visitors with things at the atomic scale and exposes them to some important concepts in nanotechnology.
