Just saw a coupla videos of the mermaid additions to PotC. Kinda creepy lookin' :)

Also saw that Angelica is now making appearances in Adventureland :)

Just rode this morning. It is creepy! The singing and they swim right beside the boat! It's pretty cool. Then there is a skeleton (by where the others are before drop) that is a mermaid, bones in tail and all. Pretty cool

Just watch the video and I agree a tad creepy. But I can't wait to see it next week!

Hmmm. I may keep the kids in the middle if it's that creepy. At least the first time.

It's not that bad. They wouldn't notice if they're not looking at the water. It's a very understated effect. :)

I was at Magic Kingdom on Monday and didn't notice any mermaids. Did I miss it or was it put in after?

The first day they were activated was this past Friday, Oct. 19 (2 days ago.)

I just watched the video and the mermaids looked like davy jones in the beginning meaning a picture cast on the water. Are my eyes playing tricks on me or is that what it was?
For some reason I thought the mermaids were going to be audio animatronics. :mickey:

1- Nope.
2- Yes.
3- The ones in the water are video projections.
There is a non-moving but "physically there" mermaid skeleton added to the rest of the skeletons in the scene nearby.

Just rode it yesterday and loved the effect! It was perfect...not too overdone and very subtle. Great addition!!
