Oct. 19, 2000 - The Lion King Stage Musical had its opening night in Los Angeles.
Oct. 19, 2000 – FastPass opened at “The Haunted Mansion” at WDW.
Oct. 19, 2000 – Disney’s musical production “The Lion King” opened at the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles, Ca.
Oct. 19, 2000 – The 13th Annual “teddy Bear and Doll Convention” began at Disney’s Coronado Springs Convention Center at WDW. (3-day event)
Oct. 19, 2001 – Starting on this day the Disney-owned El Capitan Theater in Hollywood, Ca. presented the “nightmare Before Christmas” as well as two Tim Burton shorts. Props and sets were also on display in the theater’s lobby. The event would run through Oct. 31st.
Oct. 19, 2001 – Roy E. Disney checked on the progress of the new Walt Disney Studios Park while visiting Disneyland Paris.
Oct. 19, 2002 – Disney’s Buena Vista Entertainment invited hockey players ages 18-24 to audition for the film “Miracle,” about the 1980 U.S. Hockey Team, at Disney Studios in Burbank, Ca.
Oct. 19, 2002 – Epcot’s 7th Annual “International Food and Wine Festival” began in WDW. (Ran through Nov. 17th)
Oct. 19, 2002 – A model of the General Electric Progressland Pavilion (a New York World’s Fair Disney attraction) sold on E-Bay for $5100. In its original packaging crate and protective plexiglass cover, the model is numbered #7 of 14 which were created by the industrial display firm of Richard Rush Studios in Chicago, Il. To promote General Electric’s Pavilion (later named Disney’s Carousel of Progress.)
Oct. 19, 2003 – The Disney/Touchstone Production two-hour TV movie “Beautiful Girl” aired on ABC.
