We are SO pumped for this one! We love Bond films. Casino Royale was excellent, Quantum of Solace not so much, but my hopes are high for Skyfall. And yeah, Adele's song is a perfect Bond song. ( I hated the one for Quantum).

I enjoy Bond films, but I will probably wait to see this one when it hits my On-Demand. I rarely go to the movies anymore, maybe two or three times a year. This isn't one of my typical "must see at the cinema" films.

But it does look good, and I do like Daniel Craig as Bond. I also miss the shaken not stirred days now that Heineken has invested and insists Bond stay on brand. Bond drinks beer now. It's not quite the same. Though, clearly he doesn't over-indulge and I'm sure he works it off. :)

Low point in the Bond film history had to have been Timothy Dalton having to drink Budweiser in "License to Kill" - no way Bond drinks bud:sick:

Not sure why the 4 year hiatus between Quantum and Skyfall but I'm definitely looking forward to seeing it. Craig does an excellent job as Bond and hopefully will have superior script to work from. Solace was a bit of a let down from Casino Royale.

Bond is owned by MGM which went bankrupt and was then sold tying up the franchise a bit.

Saw Skyfall last night ....
Its not as good as Casino Royale in my opinion but much better than Quantum ....
They have genuinely taken Bond back to his beginnings and at the same time bringing Bond more into the 21st Century , as you learn more about Bonds past. Its not the usual action packed Bond as you know it ,but more of a "tale"....
I dont want to give any of the story away but its acted very well by all and yes there is a slight twist in the end and Javier Bardem as the baddie is excellent

7/10 for me for the film .....
Daniel Craig for me is now the best ever James Bond now and after the way they are starting over with Bond if they were ever going to do a remake of a old Bond film Craig would be excellent for Her Majestys Secret Service

My top 5 Bond films in order are

Casino Royale
Goldfinger
On Her Majestys Secret Service
Live & Let Die
You Only Live Twice
---------------------------
Skyfall would be 6th

I loved it. I think I like it more than Casino Royale. I heard a woman complaining afterwards that there wasn't enough action. I love a good action film, but there needs to be strong story as well to set it above the rest. I feel that was the problem with Quantum- too much action and a weak, convoluted plot. There was plenty of action in this for me. The opening sequence was fantastic, and other moments of action were scattered throughout leading to the big climax. I thought the story was strong, linear, and gave us more insight into this incarnation of Bond. Since Daniel Craig is signed on for 2 more, I think the character development was needed. Also Javier Bardem was creepy and excellent.

Oh, and Sherri... Bond drinks a martini. The bar tender specified that it was shaken just like he asked.

Don't go expecting an old fashioned fun Bond flick. It's grimly serious most of the time.

I think the reason is to try to get me to forget my promise never to pay money to see another bond film after Quantum of Junk.

Oh and at a mixology seminar at Food and Wine I learned that shaking instead of stirring a good martini is pretty much the dumbest thing you can do.

Wow wow and wow! So good, getting chocked up at a Bond film? Say it isn't so!

Not enough action? I really appreciated the break to further the backstory, which got me more personally invested.

I noticed this much more than the Heineken. In fact, seems Bond himself drank everything but Beer. The others we're doing the Heineken drinking.

Didn't Bond drink a Heineken while he was lying about in bed shortly after the opening credits?

I guess he did, but a beer was actually quite appropriate for that scene. They got it out of the way early.

Actually, there was a lot of drinking in this one, as Mr. Silva points out. ;)
