Oct. 5, 1996 – The “American Film Institute Showcase” attraction opened in Disney-MGM Studios at WDW.
Oct. 5, 1997 – The Disney/Hollywood Pictures film “Washington Square” had its premiere in New York.
Oct. 5, 1997 – The Wonderful World of Disney TV series aired “Toothless.”
Oct. 5, 1999 – Disney CEO Michael Eisner was interviewed for posterity at the Library of Congress by Walter Anderson, editor of Parade magazine.
Oct. 5, 2001 – Actress Melissa Joan Hart accompanied by children from Sharon Stone’s Planet Hope visit Disneyland for the Haunted Mansion Holiday opening.
Oct. 5, 2001 – The Disney Channel debuted the Lizzie McGuire episode “Night of the Day of the Dead.”
Oct. 5, 2001 – Disney’s half-hour series “Maybe It’s Me” began airing on the WB Network. (Ended July 19, 2002)
Oct. 5, 2001 – Disney’s comedy “Max Keeble’s Big Movie” opened in theaters.
Oct. 5, 2001 – Disneyland’s “Haunted Mansion Holiday” named “The Nightmare Before Christmas” (Ran through Jan. 6. 2002)
Oct. 5, 2002 – Principal photography began on Disney’s “Freaky Friday” which would be released in August 2003.
