Sept. 24, 1992 – The first Disney Co. sponsored “Official Disneyana Convention” took place at WDW.
Sept. 24, 1993 – The Disney/Touchstone film “The Program” was released.
Sept. 24, 1993 – The Disney TV series “Boy Meets World” began airing on ABC. (Ended Sept. 8, 2000)
Sept. 24, 1996 – Disney’s Interactive CD-Rom “The Walt Disney Explorer” was released.
Sept. 24, 1998 – The sky above the Seven Seas Lagoon were filled with the spectacular fireworks and music as WDW joined forces with the American Pyrotechnics Association to launch Disney’s “Rock’n Rockets” for the next 2 nights. The first-ever event was held in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the association and featured the latest in fireworks technology along with a collection of classic displays. Accompanying the fireworks show were live musical performances by Kenny Loggins (on Sept. 24) and the B-52’s along with 10,000 Maniacs (on Sept. 25).
Sept. 24, 1998 – Michael Eisner’s book “Work in Progress” was published.
Sept. 24, 1999 – Previews began for the London West End production of Disney’s musical “The Lion King” at the Lyceum Theatre.
Sept. 24, 1999 - Tapestry of Nations made its debut in World Showcase at Epcot.
Sept. 24, 1999 – The Disney Channels half-hour original series “The Jersey” debuted.
Sept. 24, 1999 – The Disney/Touchstone Picture film “Mumford” was released.
