Epcot 30th Anniversary

So has anyone heard of what special events will be going on for the Epcot's 30th? I really haven't found much on it, all I have seen is it's Oct. 1st. Would love know what may be going on and for how long.

Were there events for Disney World 40th anniversary? I read there wasn't (oct 2011). I went to MK in july 2011 and beyond the merchandise I didn't any clue about preparing for some event.

There is a (paid) D23 event the day before, but otherwise, nothing special will be happening that day.

We read from anoter site that this year there was going to be an extra ending to Illuminations on Oct. 1st.

I only hope there will be all the Epcot 30 gear when I get there at the end of Novemeber. It looks pretty cool.

I just read that too about the extended Illuminations on the 1st. I did the undiscovered future world tour in June and I asked was anything planned and the CM said not to his knowledge BUT for Epcot's 25th and MK/WDW 40th there were told about it about a week before hand. We will be there on the 1st hoping to be surprised but not holding my breath!
