Calling Intercot friends to help with a school project!

My son is in 4th grade and they begin the school year with a "Great Postcard Race." The object is to obtain a postcard from each of the 50 states. The post mark on the post card is what counts and the card must be mailed to the school to count.

The "race" is between the different fourth grade classes and the winning class gets a pizza or ice cream party. My daughter participated in this during her 4th grade year and it was not only fun for the kids but really educational also because once they receive the cards, then they have to research and learn different facts about each state.

If you are willing to help my son, I would greatly appreciate it. Please private message me and I will send you the school address.

Wish I could help, but since I live "just down the road"...... LOL.

How long does this "race" usually take to complete? If they are still going on in Oct. I can send one from Texas. And if still going on in November I can send from Arkansas and Missouri. Let me know if you still need those states when Oct. and Nov. roll around.

If I knew about this about a week ago, I could have had DH send one from Germany. I know it's not one of the 50 states, but it would have been cool for his class to get one from Germany anyway!

I would just like to say again that Intercot is a wonderful internet community! I'm just overwhelmed by everyone offering to help. It does renew a person's faith in the world.:thumbsup:

Wendy - Thank you for the offer of a card from Colorado, but I do have that one covered thanks to a very good friend.

As to the length, it's a "race." I expect it will probably last a few weeks allowing time for cards to arrive, but there are some overachieving parents in this school (no, I'm not looking at myself :secret:) so it probably will not take too long for all areas to be covered.

If anyone is in Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, Nevada or Alaska ... cards from those states would be very welcome!

I went to five stores today and not one had post cards! apparently in RI the only place you can find postcards are at the stores in touristy areas (ie, Newport and suh) or the post office. At work tomorrow I have one of my techs stopping at the post office for me while he is out and about :blush::secret: I will message you the second I send it!
