Booking on line vs calling?

When booking for the food and wine what do you think might be the best way, calling or trying to book on line which is offered for some things?

Yesterday I was booking just general dining and had problems on line. So I called the dining line this morning and had problems with those lines:(

What time should you starting trying on line/phoning. I thought I read soemwhere that on line might start before phones.

Yes, on line dining reservations typically open up an hour before the phones lines do. I mostly do on-line booking now rather than calling.

I agree with Faline, I always try and book online for everything I can. If I'm having crazy issues, then I give them a call.

The online system does seem to get "wonkey", especially the first day things go on sale, with lots of people trying to access the same part of the site at the same time.
