Aug. 7, 1992 – Disney’s 8-minute cartoon “Petal to the Metal” was released along with the feature “3-Ninjas.”
Aug. 7, 1998 – The Disney/Touchstone film “Snake Eyes” was released.
Aug. 7, 1999 - Rose & Crown Pub and Rose & Crown Dining Room closed for rehab in the United Kingdom at Epcot.
Aug. 7, 2004 – The Disney Philharmonic Orchestra performed 25 shows starting on this day at Roundhay Park in the U.K.
Aug. 7, 2004 – “The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement” had its World Premiere at the AMC Downtown Disney Theaters in California.
Aug. 7, 2004 – Writer and producer Arthur Alsberg passed away in Los Angeles, Ca. Originally a radio comedy writer, Alsberg went on to co-write such Disney films as “Hot Lead & Cold Feet,” “Gus,” “Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo,” and “No Deposit, No Return.”
Aug. 7, 2005 – “SaveDisney.com” permanently closed down. Roy E. Disney has come to an agreement with the new management at the Walt Disney Company regarding their mutual relationship.
Aug. 7, 2007 – The Jonas Brothers’ self-titled second album, “Jonas Brothers” was released on Disney’s Hollywood Records. It would reach the number five spot on the Billboard Hot 200 Chart in its first week.
Aug. 7, 2008 – The fifth and final debut for the Art of Disney stamp series was dedicated in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland by the U.S. Postal Service. The last series of the 42-cent stamp includes four designs: “Mickey Mouse as Steamboat Willie,” “Princess Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) and her helpers Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather from Sleeping Beauty,” “Pongo and one of his pups from 101 Dalmatians,” “Mowgli and Baloo from The Jungle Book.”
Aug. 7, 2010 – The “Power Rangers” had their last appearance at the Meet & Greet area at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in WDW.
