Tonight there is extra magic hours at Hollywood studios from 10-1 am... I'm not staying on property. How do they regulate this? If I'm in the park at that time do they kick me out or can I just stay past 10 and I'm good till 1am...thanks!

You will not be able to ride anything or enjoy any attractions after the posted closing time. They are very strict now about showing your room key before you are allowed to do anything.

Last July we were asked to show our room key at just about every ride during EMH. Other than just mulling around you won't get to do much more.

Im all for testing the system a little here, a little there, but this is one you can not beat. They check, resort guests only.

They used to issue wrist bands at the normal closing time for resort guests. Do they not do this anymore?

Nope. No more wristbands. Just have to show your KTTW card before entering any open attraction queue.

Anyone can be in the park (if they were admitted prior to the start of the EMH,) and can take advantage of the shops, walk around the park, etc., but only those staying on property can take advantage of any open attraction.

Hated the wrist bands! The KTTK system is much better.

Gah I miss the wrist bands!! I hate having to pull out essentially my credit card to get onto a ride...It would be so much better to show my wrist to a CM than risk losing my KTTW card :(

A LOT of people use lanyards with their card in them for EMH. Don't have to pull them out just hold them up. See them more and more at turnstiles for EMH (we also check the card at turnstiles when people have "paper" tickets including the date on the card).

Me too! So much easier than either having to constantly pull something out OR have something hanging around my neck.

I'm so glad they check... But I'm a "rules are rules"-type person.

Yup as soon as Disney changed over to showing the room keys I went and got myself a nice Tink lanyard with the Ticket/Fastpass holder attached to it.. it was so easy showing the CM's at every ride without even having to stop and get my card out. :mickey:

Disney is still willing to take your money for food and souvenirs but they won't let you on any rides without a room key :mickey:

Not to be cheeky, but do they use the same principle for the EMH as they do when it's the Halloween and Christmas parties?

For the parties they do issue wrist bands...and once I turned a family in, a party of eight who were bragging to each other that they were attending the party for free, and what suckers everyone was for paying to stay. We were in cosmic rays. CM came and they claimed they forgot to get tickets...CM said, no problem, we can escort you to the town hall where you can purchase. Parent said fine, I'll be right back to his group, CM said, uh, no, the family will have to come with you...never saw them again...

Great story! I was wondering because on my last days in the MK, the party will be going on and I want to be able to shop in Main Street. I always go through the shops one last time to make sure I didn't miss any great shirts, ornaments, etc. before I leave the next morning.

Get it all done by 7:00pm, before the start of the party. Unlike EMH a party is a paid separate ticket event. Without a party ticket you aren't allowed to wonder around, shop, etc. There are even reports of people without tickets not being allowed to use the washrooms in the park. Without a ticket, they will escort you out after 7:00 pm.
