July 24, 1999 – The 10th Disney Channel Original Movie “Johnny Tsunami,” aired for the first time.
July 24, 2000 – Disney’s New True Life Adventure TV documentary “Sea of Sharks” aired for the first time.
July 24, 2001 – The soundtrack for “The Princess Diaries” was released.
July 24, 2005 – The premiere of Disney’s live-action movie “Sky High” took place at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood, Ca.
July 24, 2005 – Disney Channel aired “Dinner Time,” the 25th episode of “Phil of the Future.”
July 24, 2007 – Billy Ray Cyrus, multi-platinum recording artist and the co-star of the hit Disney Channel series “Hannah Montana,” made his debut on Walt Disney Records with his new album “Home At Last.”
July 24, 2008 – Disney took part in this years Comic-Con with presentations on this day that included: “The Disney Animation Process,” “Disney: Race to Witch Mountain,” and “Spotlight on Floyd Norman.”
July 24, 2009 – Disney’s Christmas Train (promoting a new version of “A Christmas Carol,” scheduled for a November release) pulled into Chicago’s Union Station.
July 24, 2009 – “G-Force,” a spy-fi comedy film produced by Jerry Bruckheimer for Walt Disney Pictures in Disney Digital 3D, was released. (It is the first live-action Disney film to be produced in Disney Digital 3D.)
July 24, 2009 – At Comic-Con 2009, animator legends Hayao Miyazaki and John Lasseter joined veteran animation directors Lee Unkrich, Kirk Wise, Ron Clements and John Musker for an animation panel. (Hosted by Lasseter, it highlighted such upcoming animated films as Disney/Pixar’s “Toy Story 3,” Walt Disney Animation Studios’ 3D version of “Beauty and the Beast,” the half-hour TV special “Prep & Landing,” “The Princess and the Frog” and Miyazaki’s “Ponyo.”
