Does anyone have any advice on which CBR buildings to request if there are no more preferred rooms open?

One other question - not related... Which CBR "villages" are "pink" on the outside and which are blue or another color? Totally just curious here...

Thanks : )

Jamaica or Aruba aren't too bad. If you can get building 45 in Jamaica or 51 in Aruba. Its just a short walk over the lake.

Jamaica - yellow buildings
Aruba - pinkish with blue roof

Google Disney Caribbean Beach Resort Map and it will help alot. I enjoyed the walk over the bridges but if you have a family of small children, then it might not be the best for you.

Hope this helps

Agree, Jamaica or Aruba are a short walk across the bridge to the food court and the main pool area. My son and his friends just returned from CBR and they were in the Jamaica Building. They were very happy with their location and the resort.

To one one-hundredth of a mile (I'm not kidding), the following three non-preferred buildings are the closest to Old Port Royale: Martinique 22, Jamaica 45 and Aruba 51.

It would be inaccurate to generically say that Jamaica and Aruba are a short walk to the food court.

True, in my post above, I state that Jamaica building #45 and Aruba building #51 are as close as you can get to the food court without paying for preferred location.

But each village (except for Trinidad North) has 6 numbered guest buildings. And it just so happens that of all the non-Pirate buildings, Jamaica 41 and Aruba 56 are as FAR AWAY from the food court as you can get.

So while Jamaica and Aruba have the closest buildings, they also have the farthest buildings. These villages are pretty large, each covers an awful lot of real estate.

I forgot to mention, LandFan, you can go to this site at Info Central and scroll down to Maps and click on Resort Maps and find CBR map. You can see all the buildings. As I said, we have always enjoyed Jamaica and the short walk over the bridge to the food court and the main pool. Yes, depending on the building, you may have a lovely stroll by the water before the bridge. It is lovely. Note the quiet pools associated with Jamaica, Aruba, etc. We have enjoyed the Jamaica buildings on several trips. I love a room facing the courtyard. They have great table and chairs and umbrella. You can meet other guests. It is so inviting. The foliage is lovely. My son and his friends really enjoyed themselves. Going over the bridge, there are fish, turtles and ducks. How lovely to see. I hope the map is helpful in letting you visualize the resort.

Thanks everyone! I just about had myself talked into Jamaica 45 but DH really doesn't care for the theme (I wasn't in love with it but I figured that was as good as it was going to get this year).

Instead we figured out a way to keep the free dining and AofA for the first 4 nights with 8 day park tix and then add 4 room-only nights at the Dolphin for the teacher rate. This makes us both TOTALLY happy!! It is very close in price to doing CBR for the whole time:D

We wanted to check out AofA with the free dining as a bonus but we also wanted to be pampered a bit this trip as well as it is a combo 10th and 11th anniversary trip (we couldn't go last year as DH got laid off unexpectedly!).

So thanks a lot for all of your input! I will definitely keep it in mind for the future! My Sis and DN would probably really like to stay here on their next trip down - they LOVE beach themed places!
