My DD left today on a 3 night girl scout trip to Mammoth. I also took my father to the senile citizens center (what my 92yo dad calls it) where he catches a bus on a 2 night trip to Laughlin.

Dropped him off, filled up the car, came home washed the car and then the towels. For now, nap time since I was up before the sun.;)

Now what.... What to do with the time alone. Not going to Disneyland this time since I don't want to leave the dog alone. She has separation issues...lol.

What would you do with 2-3 days by your self?

I would enjoy the peace and quiet!

Things I like to do when left alone are catch up on reading the stack of magazines I never get to, rearrange my closet, and watch a good movie.

I so enjoy not having to worry about making meals for everyone - even if it's only 1 or 2 days.

Don't they have doggy day care in Disneyland? Maybe you could go and the dog could have play time and make new friends?

I would enjoy the peace and quiet, clean up a little but mainly read. I find my family cuts into quiet reading time quite a bit. :)

What would you do with 2-3 days by your self?Boy, can I relate to your situation--we also have a dog with separation anxiety. She's an old gal and can't be left alone at night anymore.

My son is at college and my husband frequently travels for business, so when I am not working I am sometimes at home by myself. I don't mind it, most of the time--I catch up on projects around the house, do lots of gardening and yard work, visit with neighbors and often take the opportunity to watch movies that I've been meaning to see (British period flicks are my favorite!) :secret: And, of course, I've got the dog and four cats to look after! :dog: :cat:

It's also a good time to enjoy eating some food items that my husband doesn't care for, therefore I usually don't make--tuna casserole, chicken alfredo, peas, lima beans, and fish, to name a few.

Well my quiet time has ended. My father returned on Tuesday later than expected. His bus broke down before they left the hotel. It needed a new battery. Lucky for all those sinile citizens it was before they were on the road. So back to the casino they all went.

Jessica came home last night. She had a great time, they all did. She greeted the dog and her lizard and then off to have a shower. The clothes are in the machine. No more funky "girl trip" smells:blush: This AM she has an emergency ortho visit. One bracket on the bottom has made a big cut in her lower lip area. Hope they can fix it so it doesn't get worse.

As much as I loved the quiet and time to my self, I am glad to be back to our routines again.

I adore my alone time! And I have had a house full for some time now and I miss my alone time. I will watch movies, make myself some fun healthy meals, sometimes meet friends for coffee or lunch, and get lots of writing and reading done.

Marci, I'm glad you had a good time and now you're happy to be back to routine. Sometimes, that's nice too. Sometimes. :) Craving alone time here.
