I was wondering, do they ever have two showings of Fantasmic! on the same night? I know that years ago, they used to have two shows during peak times, but I'm wondering if they still do it.

Yes, during peak times...

For example, today, they are showing it twice: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/parks/hollywood-studios/calendardayview/?asmbly_day=20120621
and tomorrow: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/parks/hollywood-studios/calendardayview/?asmbly_day=20120622
and the next day: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/parks/hollywood-studios/calendardayview/?asmbly_day=20120623
...

Yes, they do. I noticed earlier this week when I was staying at POR that there were two shows that particular evening. Peak times normally means two shows.

Great! I'm hoping for two shows when we're there in July. I'm using the logic that the second show will be less crowded than the first show. When we were at the MK in May, they had the Main Street Electical Parade twice. The crowds for the first parade were really heavy, so we decided to ride the rides during the parade. (Hardly any lines.) For the second parade, we found a curbside seat on Main St. about five minutes before the parade started!

Yeah they had two shows a night when we were down in May, I think. Not sure since we don't usually see it, but I'm pretty certain.

Whenever there are two showings of *any* nighttime entertainment (like MSEP, F!, etc.), that second showing is *always* less crowded than the first. Think about it: families with young(er) children will want to see that first show to get the kids "home" and into bed at a halfway decent hour, so the majority of the crowds will be for the earlier showing. As you stated, good time to hit some of the more popular attractions; time to watch the fireworks (if available), and then grab a much better viewing of the second show. :mickey:
