The Disney parts all payed for-- flights are set but!!! We can't stand thought of staying off site:pout: so Cancelled offsite hotel and booked Room only at POP for 4 days and travel to outer parks. We tried staying off property for a night or two on a couple of trips...just didn't like it. Now we just bite the bullett and head to the resort of our choice. It's an addicition for sure.

You're in good company, to quote Luna Lovegood: "You're just as sane as I am" Now whether thats a good judge of character is a totally different story!!! :ccat:

YUP you drank the Disney Kool aid and bought into the need to stay in the middle of the Magic. but don't be alarmed you are not alone. Many do this and that is what disney wants.

:blush:I do it too!

We did almost the same exact thing for our August trip. We arrive late Saturday night, so we planned on staying at the hotel in the airport and hopping on the Magic Express first thing in the morning.

My husband and I were promptly told by my nephew(20) and son(12), that it will take away from the Magic if we have to take our own bags on the ME and that we won't wake up in WDW!! I guess they told us!

We are now staying at POR for one night and then transferring to Old Key West on Sunday morning for our first DVC stay!

But you are in good company here on Intercot!!:rocks::crazy:

You're not crazy at all! My father doesn't like staying outside of Disney World so if we couldn't get a room for the first night at which ever resort we were staying in for the week, my parents made reservations at Port Orleans Riverside or something. Then the next day we'd be ready by check-out and head over to the other resort.

We stayed at the Liki Tiki Resort which is just outside WDW just a couple weeks ago and it was a pretty nice place and would stay there again but I prefer the Disney Resorts.

You sound like every Disneyphile I've ever heard of. Offsite is a killer when you want to enjoy ALL there is to enjoy while there! Enjoy your trip but stay cool! It's gonna be HOT!:thedolls:

I wouldn't have done Orlando any other way.

Just think of all the time you'll be saving yourself complaining that you're not on Disney property.

You might even find yourself addicted to the Swan & Dolphin location. I love staying there without paying the price for the Yacht, Beach, or Boardwalk!

Hey, we live less than an hour from WDW and when I need to get my Disney fix, we book a room on property and stay a couple of nights!

Yep, addicted!:tink:
