So. Two things. One: I've noticed it seems like a lot of people aren't happy with Disney these days. Two: I had really rough day at work today and find myself missing WDW. Therefore, I'd thought I'd start a little game of sorts, if you would, to cheer myself up and others.
If you can, please post one positive aspect of your last trip to the World! Also, I do ask you keep snark and sarcasm to a minimum. Looking for allll the positive vibes to go here.
I'll start! One positive thing from my last trip was meeting both Belle and Beast and giving Beast a big hug. First time I'd ever met both! I'd also have to say riding the refurbed Star Tours for the first time. It was excellent.
Your turn!

It would definitely be crossing the finish line at my first half marathon and earning my race medal. Then, wearing my race shirt to DHS and hearing all of the cast members congratulate me. It was so much fun, I can't wait to do it again in 2013!

Our two positives ... I *finally* got to meet The Beast and we completed our first 5K!
It was a great trip, and we're looking forward to the ICOT 15 in October.

We had a lot of great moments during our last trip (it was DS's first, and he and DH had birthdays during that trip.)
One of my favorite moments in the parks happened directly after park opening at the MK. We'd watched the show and walked through the gates, and someone tapped DS on the shoulder. I turned around and it was Aladdin and Jasmine! The characters were all walking to their respective "lands" after riding the train to the main street station. They did not stop for pictures. However, we did follow Aladdin and Jasmine as they walked hand and hand to Adventureland.
Thank you for posting this topic... Like you, I've felt a little less of the love around here than usual. And I hope that your work stress goes away soon!

I really liked the added water feature to Dumbo in the new Fantasyland expansion..can't wait for the rest of it to open.

DS had his first haircut, DH teared up which caught me off guard, and I teared up as well as we were leaving.
He also had his first steps at DD! :)

Two great things from my last trip. 1) got to have a mini Intercot meet with Katzateer. It's fun to meet another member! 2) I got to introduce my friend to Le Cellier. She's hooked too!
Can't wait for icot15!

On our last trip, we got to bring a first timer (my DD's boyfriend) and it was just so fun to see it through his eyes. It really seemed like the Magic was in full force too. Everything was just perfect. One thing I really remember is every time we walked up to a bus stop, a bus appeared (even Magical Express). We had a couple of rooms at Pop, and they had just gotten WIFI AND had just put Fridges in our rooms right before we got there.
The best part...before we took him, he really had no interest in Disney and would get frustrated about how much my daughter wanted to talk about it. They actually fought about this. Fast forward 3 months, and he's completely obsessed. He always talks about wanting to go back and how much fun we had.

We really had a phenomonal trip last Sept. and are looking forward to our trip this Sept. I had a really hard year so I really needed a break and some magic. We were met at ME by a cast member that addressed us by name. The front desk was super helpful and friendly. Mousekeeping went over and above for us. We had a fantastic room that was close to everything (stayed at WL). We met many super nice cast members. Star tours was fantastic - we rode it probably 15 times and every time the "audience" clapped at the conclusion of the ride (BIG improvement over the old star tours). MNSSHP was fantastic as always. The headless horseman was probably worth every penny of the ticket all by himself.
It was really a magical trip and everything that I expect from the Mouse :mickey: Can't wait to go back :cloud9:

We went to MVMCP last year and DS16 went and bought himself Gingerbread ears and the lightup snowman necklace, put them on, and asked me to take his picture. He sent it to DS20 who was at college, and texted him that he missed him.
Huh :jaw: Now that was some Disney magic!
19 days until we all go back

We had so many magical moments on our last trip that I'm going to have to cheat and pick two. :mickey:
The first was the looks on my girls' faces when they saw that they were going to meet not only Rapunzel, but Flynn Ryder too! Our youngest looked up at Flynn and said, "We like you. We really like you!"
The second was the haunted carriage ride at FW. It was such a special time, with just us and the girls loved the finale!

I have 4 great positive thoughts about WDW trips:
1. My daughter is a student at Florida Institute of Technology studying Civil Engineering. She carries 18+ credits a semester. I get to fly down to Orlando and see her on special planned weekends (not many but at least a few) and we spend some down time at WDW. This gives her a much needed break from the stress of daily classes, and I get to see her and know she is doing okay.
2. I have a great friend that I met through intercot 15 years ago who lives in Deland. Her DH travels more than my DH does - so when I go to visit my daughter, I invite her to join us. We don't see each other often enough, but when we do, its like we see each other everyday.
3. I love the Club level manager at WL (Randy). Whenever I can stay the the WL club level, its great to just sit and talk with him and catch up on whats happened and what is happening.
4. My dad was given his nickname of Mr. Toot at HDDR - need I say anymore?

On our last trip while dining at Chefs de France we got the chance to have Remy come visit us at our table not once but 2x during the same seating! This totally made our entire trip as he was soooo amazing!

Loving all the positives everyone! It's cheering me up quite a bit after my day at work yesterday. Hoping they might be cheering up other people too. :)

We went to Magic Kingdom for a few hours at the end of May to celebrate my son's kindergarten graduation. We had a really nice night.
Here were a few postives that really made a a memorable night
This was the first time we rode Dumbo at night. It was beautiful and as a bonus they were testing Casey Jr's Splash Zone and we could see it from Dumbo.
My kids trying to figure out if they could sneak into Casey Jr's Splash Zone. :D
My kids enjoying the Winnie the Pooh interactive queue and never going on the ride.
Watching the newest version of The Magic, the Memories and You show
The cast member who noticed my son looking around a gift cart right before the exit at park close. My son was looking for a hat he saw coming in that was now gone. The cast member walked us to the closest store that carried the hat so we could get it.

I was lucky enough to go twice last year. The first time with one sister & her husband and kids. We stayed at my timeshare-off property-for the first time. Having all that extra room was great.
The second time was with the other sister, her husband & kids for my nephew's Make A Wish trip. Seeing how special they treated not only William but all of us was the best and no waiting in any lines was fantastic.
I'm really hoping to get back there in October with both sisters and my nephews & BIL.

I have many, many magical moments I got to make as a CM, but I`ll keep it to a few:
One afternoon I was bussing tables, and this boy no older than 10 wheeled his grandmother up the ramp into EU`s circle area and was literally doing everything: taking her order, being given the money to pay, and getting all the condiments on a tray. Having a grandmother in a similar condition, I sprang into action. I usually had a various collection of the celebration buttons on hand, and so I went up to the boy and the rest of his family. I explained to him that, like Santa, :mickey sees everything that happens in his parks. He was so moved by what he saw that he sent me, a friend of his, to honor him. I then gave him an I`m Celebrating button for his deeds and he thanked me.
The other one I`m touched about to this day was a boy about the same age on his first trip to WDW. He lives in Anaheim, so he had done Disneyland numerous times. As we got to talking, I was struck by how much this kid knew at his age about Epcot in particular for being his first time. The button came to the rescue again, and this time I wrote Future Imagineer on the I´m Celebrating button. His father pulled me aside later and said that his son talking to me about Epcot was the highlight of his son´s trip.

First of all, thanks for posting this. I too have noticed a lot of negativity lately and I don't get it. I do understand some of the current changes at WDW might be different from things in the past but it's still such a magical place to be that I have no problem shutting that stuff out when we go.
My last trip was my wife's first ever and my son's (then 2) first ever so it was so awesome seeing them experience it for the first time. One of our most magical moments occured in Mickey's Toontown. We had been waiting in a line for pictures with Mickey for over an hour and had to get out of line because my son had had enough. So we were walking out of the tent and a cast member stopped us and asked us if anything was wrong. We told him we had to leave and he gave us a VIP pass for a front of the line spot for a picture with Mickey later that afternoon!
We hope to be going next summer and we'll have another boy in tow, our current 9 month old. Can't wait to see what magic is bestowed upon us then!
We were having dinner at the Crystal Palace and DS (13) smiled and laughed when Pooh came over and gave him a fist bump. We thought he would be way to cool to show any emotion ;)
This is the best thread I've seen in AGES!! Thank you so much, White Rose, I hope your work stress cools down very soon!!!
My most magical memory from our last trip was the day we spent the whole day in AK and it was positivitely Flooding on us the whole time. We got to ride Yeti I think 6 times in the rain and Kali like 5 and could have gone more but we were wet enough already lol!! My best memory is at one point it was raining to hard I thought we would wash away and we ducked into Yak and Yeti and as tacky as it is we hung our poncho's out to dry on our chairs and after we settled in (We sat at the bar and just had appetizers) we slipped off our shoes and socks and let them dry on our chairs, we had hot tea and snacks and tried the wonton desert they have, it was all so warm and so cheerful inside that we were ready to go right back out into the floods and its honestly my most memorable day out of all the trips we've gone on, just so different from anything we've ever encountered.
:cloud9:Yay positivity and happiness!!! :cloud9:

Our last trip was magical in many ways, but one of the most magical moments was being picked to be the family of the day at Magic Kingdom. We love to be at MK at opening, and it was amazing to countdown with Mickey and meet the Main Street dancers.

The most memorable thing on my last trip was getting to spend quality time with my youngest Son alone. No big brother or sister there to distract us. Doing anything thing HE wanted to do...:mickey: :cloud9:

I can't tell you how great it is to read a thread and not have to skip over certain postings because of the negativity. THANKS!!!
Every vacation at WDW and at DL has many special moments that stay in my mind. So, I have many happy comments I can post, but I think my most recent trip (10-22 May 12) gave me some pretty unexpected and happy memories.
I've been fortunate on my past several trips to have my room ready when I checked in (I typically take the first non-stop flight out of Philly and I'm usually at check in by 10-10:30 AM.). I arrived at AS Music at 10:15 AM and was on my way to my room in Jazz Bldg 9 by 10:35. I started to unpack, and decided to go to lunch before I finished. As we all know, breakfast in the food courts is usually over by 11 AM, so I figured I'd find something to tide me over until I went over to EPCOT. Well, I guess my luck was continuing because I walked into the food court at 11:25 and they were still serving breakfast at one counter - but not just any plain old boring breakfast. They were still serving Mickey Waffles!! I knew my trip was going to be great when my first meal on my first day consisted of a Mickey Waffle with Strawberry Topping and Orange Juice. :mickey:
This thread is so wonderful!!! All this happy is making me smile like a big goof ball at my desk at work, thank you all for posting such wonderful stories!!! :cloud9:

Thank you so much for starting this thread! So many of the posts that I’ve seen lately have really been bumming me out about Disney.
Here’s my magical story.
I was at Disneyland with my mom and sisters last year. We had been in line for Indiana Jones and the ride went down. As we left the ride they were handing out ‘use anywhere’ fastpasses. We decided to head over to Star Tours to get on that with the passes. Since Star Tours was newly open we asked the cast member who was collecting fastpasses if it was good there. She took it and pointed out to us that it said, in tiny lettering, ‘not good for Star Tours.’ We were a little disappointed, but kind of expected it, and quickly decided we’d go ride Space Mountain with it then. The castmember asked to see the card again, slipped four fastpasses that she pulled out of her pocket under it and handed it back to us saying ‘you know, I’d get in the fastpass line, just in case.’ It was just such a magical experience. It really was something so small, but I really just wanted to hug her. It totally made our day!
2011 trip was for our 35th anniversary. Both adult sons came. I was thrilled about their presence.
I forgot about one I wanted to share, this is my best "Being an adult in WDW story" I'm 25 right now, I never really drank much until I was around 23ish? One night when we were in Epcot my Mom asked me if we wanted to drink abit while we wandered around the world, so we both got froufrou drinks and walked with them, when we got to the UK she said "Lets go do Irish Car Bombs" (My favorite drink, also I should add my Mom doesn't drink hardly at all, same as me) so the bar tender took pictures of us and we got cheered for by the whole bar once done, its silly but really, having somewhere we could do that together and not have to worry about finding a cab or anything, was just so wonderful to me. Weird I know but its the little things some times.

Mine was going with my then BF now fiance. At the time he didn't understand my WDW obsession. Watching him love it as much as I do was awesome!
