Just saw the lion King last night! It was amazing. The creativity of the costumes, scenery and choreography! I highly recommend this show! This was the kids first theater expirience, and they loved it! They think the theater is better than a movie!

I saw it when it came to the Bob Carr in Orlando. I enjoyed it so much, I ended up seeing it twice! It really is an amazing show

I've seen the show 9 times since it opened in London. The opening is awesome.

Howerver, the show has been shortened :thedolls:

The original show had an additional song "The Morning Report" sung by Zazu. The song was then added to the special DVD that came out back then. It was also omitted from the latest BluRay/DVD..

The last time that I saw the song had been dropped. After the show I was chatting with one of the sound techs to find out the Las Vegas version was deemed to be too long. Therefore, the production was cut back worldwide :thedolls:

IMO the show is still good but based on what I was told, the casinos have ruined it for all those not in Vegas.

Yep we saw the shortened version. Thatsong was not in the show we saw that night. I had heard the song before on the DVD release you mentioned. Not a fan of that song, I did enjoy the song he lives in you (?) and the one in the grass, i had not heard these songs before. :mickey:

"He Lives In You" is a reprise sung by Rafiki, of Mufasa's "They Live In You".

I think your reference for the one in the grass is "Shadowland" sung by Nala...

Fatshe leso lea halalela
(This land of our ancestors is holy)

Shadowland
The leaves have fallen
This shadowed land
This was our home

The river's dry
The ground is broken
So I must go
Now I must go

And where the journey may lead me
Let your prayers be my guide
I cannot stay here, my family
But I'll remember my pride

I can't believe there's something better than the movie! :mickey:
But well, it seems to be an interesting experience, and I'd love to have a look at it as well. So where did you watch it?

We saw it years ago at the Arnoff Center in Cincinnati Ohio - quite a few years ago! I also loved Beauty and the Beast - so much better than the movie ( and I love the movies).

Live theatre is so wonderful!

I saw it on Tour in Orlando, and hope to see it on Broadway in NYC

I've seen both versions and they are equally stunning. I didn't think the shortened version hurt the show at all.. Still right up there as spectacular!
