Is the opening to the bathroom/sink area extra large similar to a double door opening or is it similar to a regular single door opening without the door?

It's similar to a single door opening. The vanity area is quite nice.

It's like you have the bedroom area, then around the corner, with a wall separation (single doorway no doors) you have a hallway with the double sinks, and the door to the actual bathroom behind you there at the sinks. The actual bathroom space is well separated and that corridor with the sinks makes a nice divider to block off actual bathroom noise and light. Unless you're really noisy at the sinks with blasting water, it works pretty well to section that area off and it's roomy enough to dress in that area, too.

How is the overall feel of the resort? Is it warm and welcoming or cold and snooty. I love nice things but I don't care for being around people who aren't friendly. That is probably my only other concern. On another thread a fellow Intercoter recommended a tension rod and curtain to block off the area. Funny they mentioned it because that is exactly what I was thinking of doing. I can't believe what a difficult decision this is. :mickey:

You can see a general layout of the rooms here (http://intercot.com/resorts/disney/grandfloridian/default.asp).

Everyone we have encountered during our stays at the GF have been very nice. When you pass people they say hi, the staff is beyond amazing. It isn't a snooty hotel. We do not have kids but I noticed lots of parents/kids conversing when we were at the pool. We chit chatted with a few couples while we were at the pool bar.
It's a fabulous hotel so if you can do it, I say do it! Let me know if you have any more questions. :)

I've always found it warm and welcoming. I know it's not to everyone's taste and some people feel it's too fancy for their comfort, but I've never gotten that vibe from it. It has a Victorian charm, but to me it's more of a grandma's house kind of charm than an overly posh feeling. I think the rooms are a little less grandmotherly than they used to be, but there's still that feeling to me of older, relaxed elegance. We've always had friendly service and I love sitting in the lobby to people-watch.
