Apr. 29, 2001 – Mouse Planet held its “Mouse Adventure” competition at Disneyland. This light-hearted event, loosely based on the cast member event “Minnie’s Moonlit Madness,” was a scavenger hunt-like game which awards prizes to the top teams.
Apr. 29, 2003 – Disney’s “Treasure Planet” was released on DVD.
Apr. 29, 2005 – As part of the “2005 Bass Federation Championship” amateur anglers dropped their lines in WDW’s Bay Lake.
Apr. 29, 2007 – The Disney Channel launched in Turkey exclusively on the DIGITURK digital platform.
Apr. 29, 2007 – The “Laguna Bar” opened at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort at WDW.
Apr. 29, 2009 – Former Imagineer Rolly Crump and (the late) Don Edgren were honored at Disneyland with Main Street windows. (Prior to the park’s opening, family, friends and fans of the two Disney Legends gathered to witness the dedication of the store windows. Walt Disney Imagineering Ambassador Marty Sklar and Disneyland Resort President Ed Grier were on hand for the ceremony.)
Apr. 29, 2011 – The wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton was broadcast live from Westminster Abbey on large screens in the lobby of the Dolphin hotel at WDW beginning at 5 a.m.
Apr. 29, 2011 – Timothy and Amy Sumabat, from Everett, Wa., winners of D23 Behing the Magic Contest, arrived at the Disney Studio Lot for their very special private tour.
Apr. 29, 2011 – The “Disney Wonder” sailed under the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco for the very first time.
Apr. 29, 2011 – The Walt Disney Pictures film “PROM,” was released in theaters.
