Mar. 11, 2003 – Disney’s “Inspector Gadget 2” was released on video and DVD.
Mar. 11, 2005 – The Disney Channel Original Movie “Buffalo Dreams’ debuted.
Mar. 11, 2005 – The new sandcastle-themed waterslide opened at Disney’s Old Key West Resort in WDW.
Mar. 11, 2006 – The NFFC Strickly Disneyana Show and Sale kicked off at the Celebration Middle School Gymnasium in Celebration, Fl.
Mar. 11, 2006 – The NFFC (Nation Fantasy Fan Club) held its 2nd annual Florida Strictly Disneyana Show & Sale at Celebration Middle School in Celebration, Fl. (2-day event)
Mar 11, 2007 – The Disney stage production “Tarzan” celebrated its 350th performance on Broadway.
Mar. 11, 2009 – Ashley Brown and Gavin Lee reprise their roles from the Broadway production of “Mary Poppins” in Chicago, Il. A national tour of the musical kicked off this evening at the Cadillac Palace theatre.
Mar. 11, 2010 – The Academy Award-winning composers of the music from “It’s a Small World” and “The Enchanted Tiki Room,” as well as “Mary Poppins” – Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman, received a tribute window on Disneyland’s Main Street.
Mar. 11, 2011 – “Mars Needs Moms,” a 3D computer animated film based on the book by Berkeley Breathed, was released by Walt Disney Pictures.
Mar. 11, 2011 – Strong earthquakes hit the Tohoku Region of Japan on this day, triggering several meter high tsunami’s that caused massive destruction and loss of human life in areas along the Pacific Coast, especially in Miyagi, Iwate and Fukushima Prefectures. The Disneyland Resort and Tokyo DisneySea would temporarily close.
