Mar. 4, 1994 – Actor/comedian John Candy, the voice of Albatross Wilbur in Disney’s 1990 film “The Rescuers Down Under” passed away of a heart attack at the age of 44.
Mar. 4, 1994 – The Disney film “Angie,” starring Geena Davis, James Gandolfini, Aida Turturro, Philip Bosco, and Stephen Rea , was released.
Mar. 4, 1995 – Disney’s syndicated 1-hour TV special “40 Years of Adventure” hosted by Wil Shriner, commemorating the 40th Anniversary of Disneyland, aired on KCAL in Los Angeles.
Mar. 4, 1996 – The ride track installation began on Epcot’s upcoming attraction “Test Track” at WDW.
Mar. 4, 1999 – Sotheby’s in New York held an auction for “The Art of Disney’s Mulan”.
Mar. 4, 2000 – ABC-TV aired “Mickey Mouse Works.” The program featured the Donald Duck shorts “Donald’s Halloween Scare,” “Donald’s Lighthouse,” and “How to Take Care of Your Yard,” featuring Goofy.
Mar. 4, 2001 – The “Star Wars Weekend” began at Disney-MGM Studios in WDW. (The event ran four consecutive weekends Fri., Sat., Sun., through May 27th.)
Mar. 4, 2003 – “La Vida Mickey 2” a Latin dance party CD, was released.
Mar. 4, 2003 – To mark the launch of the new Disney Visa Card by Bank One, Walt Disney Chairman and CEO Michael Eisner and Bank One Chairman and CEO Jamie Dimon rang the Opening Bell at the New York Stock Exchange.
Mar. 4, 2003 – Toy Story was voted #1 in the Top 100 Animated Features of All Time by the Online Film Critics Society.
