Feb. 27, 2006 – Disney announced that 2 new restaurants would be coming to WDW. An Asian restaurant (tentatively called “Asia”) which would debut in the Village of Anandapur in Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 2007, and the “T-Rex: A Prehistoric Family Adventure, A Place to Eat, Shop, Explore and Discover” in Downtown Disney.
Feb. 27, 2007 – “Muppett Movie Lab,” featuring interactive Audio-Animatronic Muppett characters, was tedted at Disney’s California Adventure.
Feb. 27, 2008 – The Atlanta Braves played their first exhibition game of the season at Champion Stadium at Disney’s Wide World of Sports in WDW. The Braves won 8-0 over the University of Georgia.
Feb. 27, 2009 – Shawn Johnson, a 2008 Olympic Gold Medal gymnast, visited Disney’s Hollywood Studios at WDW.
Feb. 27, 2009 – “The Magical Music of Walt Disney – Omaha Symphony Pops Concert” kicked off 3-days of performances at the Holland Performing Arts Center in Nebraska.
Feb. 27, 2009 – Dorothea Holt Redmond, an illustrator and production designer who worked with Walt Disney to design a private apartment in Disneyland’s New Orleans Square, passed away at age 98.
Feb. 27, 2009 – “ESPN The Weekend” presented by Dick’s Sporting Goods began at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. (Ran till Mar. 1, 2009)
Feb. 27, 2009 – “Jonas Brothers: The 3D Experience” hit the big screen in Disney Digital 3-D.
Feb. 27, 2011 – The 83rd Annual Academy Awards were presented at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood, Ca. “Toy Story 3” was nominated in 5 categories, and “Alice in Wonderland” won for Art Direction.
Feb. 27, 2011 – The Atlanta Braves lost to the New York Mets 5-4, in its first spring training game of 2011 at Champion Stadium in WDW.
