Feb. 25, 2005 – The 2nd “ESPN the Weekend” took place at WDW. (3-day event)
Feb. 25, 2005 – Disney sold their professional sports team “The Mighty Ducks” to Henry and Susan Samueli.
Feb. 25, 2005 – Singer Cyndi Lauper guest starred as Ms. Patuto on the “That’s So Raven” episode “Art Breaker.”
Feb. 25, 2006 – Disney invited fans to meet the stars of the new family comedy feature “The Shaggy Dog” at N.Y.C.’s World of Disney Store.
Feb. 25, 2006 – Actor Darrin McGavin passed away in Ca. at age 83. He appeared in the 1976 Disney feature “No Deposit, No Return” and the 1979 Disney made-for-TV-movie “Donovan’s Kid.” (McGavin also starred in the 1950 series Mike Hammer, the 1970’s series Kolchak: The Night Stalker, and may be best remembered for his role in the holiday comedy A Christmas Story.)
Feb. 25, 2007 – The Oscar for Best Achievement in Visual Effects was awarded to “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” at the 79th Annual Academy Awards.
Feb. 25, 2008 – DoomBuggies.com hosted its 10-year anniversary bash as Disneyland Park with an exclusive, attendees-only dinner and program in the Blue Bayou Restaurant in New Orleans Square.
Feb. 25, 2010 – Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex was renamed on this day. The 220-acre sports complex is now officially renamed as “ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.”
Feb. 25, 2010 – Ayefour Publishing released the book “Project Future: The Inside Story Behind the Creation of Disney World” by Chad D. Emerson.
Feb. 25, 2011 – “Live! With Regis & Kelly” broadcasted live from Disneyland for the kickoff of “Regis & Kelly’s Run Across America with Dean Karnazes.”
