We hit another milestone today in our countdown to our Aulani vacation at the end of May: I bit the bullet and purchased air. Ugh what a chunk of change! I felt with all the goings on right now in the world and the threat of oil prices skyrocketting, now was the time. I'd been looking since we booked at 7 months and honestly I didn't see much better prices out there.

So once again I am just here to say I am so happy we joined DVC. This is a trip we probably would not be taking, especially with the kids, if we had to pay for the hotel too. And since we booked the 1 BR, we can save a bit on cooking a little and pack less clothes.

We're just over 90 days to go!:cloud9:

I can't wait to hear all about it. We are now planning a 2013 trip there. I saw the models of the 1br (and studio) at the DVC center at Disneyland. Wow, they are so nice. I loved all the little details.

Have a great trip.

If you don't mind my asking, how much was the airfare?

It was just over $600 pp round trip from Chicago to Honolulu.

I was actually thinking it would be closer to $1000 pp. It seems like you may have gotten an ok deal. Have a wonderful time. I have been watching live with Kelly this week and it looks amazing.

Yeah it's headed in that direction $1000 pp for nonstop I saw. I broke up the flights so we will fly to California first and spend a few days at Disneyland at the start of the trip. I do think we got a decent price. Pretty much covered it with our tax refund.

I think you got a good deal, and icing on the cake to stop for a few days in Disneyland first. What a great plan! Have fun!

You will not be disappointed. We were there for Thanksgiving. As beautiful as it looks on TV and online...in person does not compare! Have fun!!!

We were there a couple of weeks ago for 8 days. It was amazing. I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Aloha!

I think you got a great airfare price. I just paid $500 per person for nonstop from CA. Have fun! I can't wait for the trip reports.

I almost booked Aulani for my upcoming Hawaii trip. It's just a tad to pricey. I'm sure I'll kick myself later, but... I gotta save up for a WDW trip!
