Feb. 18, 1989 - The TV series The Golden Girls aired “Two Rode Together”, in which the girls took a trip to WDW.
Feb. 18, 1995 - Disney’s “The Lion King” was released on video.
Feb. 18, 1995 – The Disney TV movie “The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes” aired on ABC.
Feb. 18, 2000 - The fireworks show “Believe…There’s Magic in the Stars” officially debuted at Disneyland.
Feb. 18, 2001 - The Disney Channel presented “eye On L.A.: First Look at Disney’s Newest Theme Park”.
Feb. 18, 2001 – Disney’s direct to video animated sequel “Lady and the Tramp II” had its premiere at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, Ca. Voice cast members Cathy Moriarty (Ruby), Jodi Benson (Lady), Scott Wolf (Scamp), and Chazz Palminteri (Buster) were in attendance.
Feb. 18, 2002 - WDW celebrated Presidents’ Day with the reopening of the updated “Hall of Presidents” attraction with its newest animatronic figure President George W. Bush.
Feb. 18, 2004 – The Walt Disney Co. and The Jim Henson Co. announced that they have entered into an agreement under which Disney will acquire the Muppets and Bear in the Big Blue House properties from Henson.
Feb. 18, 2007 – The China Pavilion at Epcot celebrated the Chinese New Year.
Feb. 18, 2008 – Disney’s Vero Beach Resort honored baseball Hall of Famer Tommy Lasorda by officially naming the resort’s recreation lawn “Lasorda Field” during a special ceremony.
