With the news that the Hoop De Doo Dinner Show will be closed while we are in the world...we are looking for suggestions for dinner..

We already had ADRs for the following
Dinner- Chef Mickey's and Liberty Tree
Breakfast - Akershus, Crystal Palace and 1900 Park Fare..

Themed restraunt that will excite a 7 and 4 yr old with American Cuisine.

We already used all out dining plan allotments for TS meals, and had been planning to pay OOP for the HDDR..

Suggestions??

You might try the Garden Grill in Epcot or Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge.

You have a lot of character meals already planned, so I won't go suggest Garden Grill (though you might think about changing out Chef Mickey for Garden Grill... is there anything cooler than a rotating restaurant where you are visited by Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale?).

As you are looking for American cuisine, would you consider Coral Reef (here are links to their current dinner (http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/media/wdw_nextgen/CoreCatalog/WaltDisneyWorld/en_us/Media/InternetMediaType/Dining/CoralReef/coral-reef-restaurant-menu-dinner.pdf) and kids' (http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/media/wdw_nextgen/CoreCatalog/WaltDisneyWorld/en_us/Media/InternetMediaType/Dining/CoralReef/coral-reef-restaurant-menu-kids.pdf) menu). There's no guarantee that you'll be seated down near the aquarium wall, but even if you aren't... it's still pretty cool.

Another restaurant you might want to consider is Whispering Canyon Cafe over in Wilderness Lodge or 'Ohana in the Polynesian. While "Ohana is touted as "This tropically-themed restaurant offers a family-style dinner with menu selections influenced by Polynesian dishes, like meats grilled over an oak fire," salad, steamed vegggies and meats grilled over an oak fire aren't too distant from typical American cuisine. And there are plenty of activities for the kids during the dinner hour. Breakfast there is also fun and features Mickey, Pluto, Lilo and Stitch.

Have fun planning! :mickey:

cape may cafe at the beach club has the greatest character brkfst. the buffet food is fantastic and the characters are really great. they spend plenty of time at each table. goofy, minnie mouse, donald duck, daisy duck.

also, 50s prime time at hollywood studios is just great and has good food. but you may want a revs there.

1900 Park Fare Cinderella dinner is great for girls that age. Also, my DDS love Rainforest Cafe in DTD, and hubby and I LOVE OHanas - truly worth the $.

You could try Park Fare at the Grand Floridian. Have had breakfast and dinner there and enjoyed both. For breakfast they Have Alice and the Mad Hatter also Mary Poppins. Dinner is cinderellla and prince charming plus the wicked step mother and step sisters very cute interaction.

Another vote for both Whispering Canyon Cafe and 50s Prime Time Cafe! Both are fun, have great American food and are very "Disney!" :mickey:

My children love the Sci Fi dine in Theater. It's standard American Fare with a fun theme.
