We usually fly to MCO via Jet Blue. I have been checking for flights for our upcoming trip in Oct. Since the rates for the above 2 airlines dont have prices this far in advance I have been pricing similar flights for the month earlier. Jet Blue is $344 RT while SW is $200 both inc tax. Anyone know why Jet Blue prices are so high these days. I would rather fly JB but have no problem flying SW since the prices are much more appealing.

Jet Blue normally releases their fares at a low point so you have to keep an eye out, I would suggest signing up for their email if you haven't done that yet. We usually go end Oct/early Nov and have been able to grab $90-$109 each way fron EWR when the bookings open.

I booked for our June trip about a month ago and paid $360. I have been able to get $50 credit back so far using yapta. You put in what you paid or your target price and they email at that price point. JB really plays with their pricing to distribute the load factor. Today the 630A may be the sale flight and tomorrow it could be the 2P so you need to keep an eye on it.

I have been asking myself this for the past year. For August 2010, Jet Blue was $1,200 RT for three....we chose Continental at $540 RT for three. HUGE difference.

We prefer JetBlue and have always been willing to pay a little more but not over $600 more.

BTW...I have never flown SW but have only heard great reviews from family and friends.

Southwest is the only airline that flies directly to Orlando from my local airport. Haven't had any problems so far.
