Feb. 7, 2004 – The Disney/Pixar animated feature Finding Nemo earned nine Annie Awards at the 31st annual event. Roy Disney’s appearance on stage as a presenter prompts a thunderous applause and a standing ovation. William Ryan and his ukulele led the audience in a round of “Happy Birthday” for absent Winsor McCay honoree Thurl Ravenscroft (whose voice can be heard all over Disney television shows, movies, and theme park attractions).
Feb. 7, 2004 – The Wonderful World of Disney aired “The Special Edition of the Lion King.”
Feb. 7, 2004 – “The Lion King Carnival” began at Disneyland Paris. (Ran through Mar. 7, 2004).
Feb. 7, 2006 – The Walt Disney Presents “Bambi II” was released on DVD.
Feb. 7, 2006 – The “New Islands of the Caribbean Adventure Cruise” began at the Caribbean Beach Resort at WDW.
Feb. 7, 2006 – The CD Radio Disney Jams, Vol. 8 was released. (The collection included performances by such artists as “The Click Five,” “Aly & AJ,” “Jesse McCartney,” “Hilary Duff,” and “The Cheetah Girls.”
Feb. 7, 2007 – Indianapolis Colts head coach Tony Dungy and running back Dominick Rhodes visited the Magic Kingdom in WDW to celebrate their Feb. 4th Super Bowl win.
Feb. 7, 2007 – Walt Disney Parks and Resorts announced it is considering putting Disney-themed Hotels and nightlife districts into downtown areas of major cities that currently do not have Disney properties.
Feb. 7, 2010 – The “Fairytale Dining at Cinderella’s Royal Table” debuted in Cinderella Castle in the Magic Kingdom at WDW. (Formerly “Cinderella’s Royal Table.”)
Feb. 7, 2010 – At Super Bowl XLIV, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees shouted “I’m going to Disney World!” following his teams 31-17 win over the Indianapolis Colts in South Florida.
