I am not aware of them ever giving a discount in july or august when the place is packed.

the room prices are way higher than at other times.

In years past, yes, there have been summer discounts. Your question is not that unreasonable. Although we never know if discounts will be released, they have offered them in the past. In 2009, they offered the stay 4 nights get three nights free. I believe there were room only discounts in 2010. If I recall correctly, if discounts are offered, they are usually released in the Spring. You can also sign up for email on the disney website which may increase your chances of getting a pin code.

Last August free dining, kids stay and play free and room discounts were offered. I'm thinking that they didn't put it out there until late spring.

I have visited deluxe resorts in the past, usually after July 7th because the room rates were lower than the first part of the summer. I'm just hoping for an additional 30% off. That would be great.

We had a great deal at the end of August 2010 with free dining. I had booked the deal in July 2010 but, I don't know how long the deal had been available.I'm hoping that deal comes up again.
