Dec. 18, 1964 – The Disney Featurette “The Tattooed Police Horse” was released.
Dec. 18, 1964 – The Disney film “Emil and the Detectives” was released.
Dec. 18, 1965 – The “Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color” aired a show commemorating the recently opened “It’s a Small World” attraction at Disneyland, and Walt Disney who passed away three days before.
Dec. 18, 1966 – The Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color aired “Disneyland Around the Seasons.”
Dec. 18, 1971 – The St. Petersburg High School Green Devil Band performed at WDW. This makes them the first guest high school marching band to ever play at the new Florida theme park.
Dec. 18, 1979 – The Walt Disney Productions live-action film, “The Black Hole,” featuring Maximilian Schell, Anthony Perkins, Ernest Borgnine, and Roddy McDowall premiered in London. (It would be released in the U.S. two days later.)
Dec. 18, 1980 – Pop star Christina Marie Aguilera, a member of the 90’s TV show “The All New Mickey Mouse Club,” was born in Staten Island, N.Y.
Dec. 18, 1984 – Edna Francis Disney, mother of Roy E. Disney, passed away at the age of 94.
Dec. 18, 1988 – Disney’s Davy Crockett movie starring Tim Dunigan “A Natural Man” aired.
Dec. 18, 1988 – The Walt Disney Home Video “Disney’s Summer of the Monkey’s” was released.
