It actually starts mid September.

Around the second week of September. We are going to arrive next year on the 17th because I know it will have already started.

Oh good! I'll be there from the 15th to 27th of September, so I'll have to consider going :-)

The Halloween Party is one of the best things we've ever been to at WDW. We love watching the Headless Horseman ride down Main Street to USA before the parade starts. The Haunted Mansion has a different feel to it, and the fireworks are outstanding. Here's a tip for watching the fireworks. After the first parade ends, head to the second floor of the train station. The people who were up there for the parade will be leaving and you can grab a chair along the railing and wait for the fireworks. We did this on our last trip and we had seats looking right down Main Street USA towards the castle. We couldn't have asked for a better way to end our day at the park.
