Really thankful

My Gramps is in a nursing home on an Alzheimer's ward. Lately we have been noticing a decline, and to be honest, I was dreading visiting today. We got there and chatted for a bit while he ate (we brought him a plate of homemade turkey day treats). It was a nice visit, but when we got up to leave, he got up, hugged me and actually called me by my name. It's been months since he has done that! It totally made my day, so I just had to share.
