Nov. 23, 1958 – Mouseketeer Annette Funicello served as a special hostess as she accompanied Princess Sophia of Greece and Madame Mary Carolou around Disneyland.
Nov. 23, 1963 – Disneyland closed its gates in honor of U.S. President John F. Kennedy, who was assassinated in Dallas, Tx. Nov. 22nd.
Nov. 23, 1969 – Disney’s part-1 of its 2-part TV movie “The Secrets of the Pirate’s Inn” aired. (Part-2 aired Nov. 30, 1969)
Nov. 23, 1971 – Comedic actress Lisa Arch was born in Los Angeles, Ca. She portrayed the character Samantha Samuels on Disney Channel’s “Cory in the House.” (Fans of MADtv would recognize her as a repertory performer, for the third season.)
Nov. 23, 1980 – The Disney’s Wonderful World TV series aired “The Mouseketeer Reunion.”
Nov. 23, 1980 – WDW introduced “10-Adventure” Ticket books- replacing the “A through E’ coupons. Now, instead of each ride requiring a lettered ticket, the tickets in the book can be used for any attraction.
Nov. 23, 1984 – Actor Lucas Grabeel was born in Springfield, Missouri. Best known to Disney Channel fans as Ryan Evans on the hit “High School Musical,” he also appeared in the movies “Halloweentown High” and “Return to Halloweentown.”
Nov. 23, 1986 – The Disney TV show aired “The Thanksgiving Promise.”
Nov. 23, 1988 – “Bear Country” was renamed “Critter Country” at Disneyland.
Nov. 23, 1988 – The “Crocodile Mercantile” shop opened in Critter Country at Disneyland.
