Maryann Schmidt was the featured artist at this year's Food and Wine Festival. She was discovered by Disney executives at an art show and asked to design this year's F & W logo. It was one of my favorite F & W logos.

When we were there in October, for my birthday, we loved Maryann's work so much that we bought a 4 x 5 original oil painting of hers to complete the dining room in our new house. When we were trying to work out shipping charges, she offered to deliver and hang it herself with her husband, Walter. They were just here, super nice, and the painting looks amazing so I wanted to share. If you were at this year's F & W Fest early on, you might have seen the painting, Glass Favorites, hanging in one of the festival's artist tents.

Now hanging in our dining room:

Other views of our dining room (before the painting delivery and our red velvet curtains in the window behind the table- pic two- across from the painting/archway to music room), to get an idea of how it fits in the space:

The red room beyond the dining room is my kitchen. The room through the arch under the painting is our music room, which leads to a formal living room. The family room is just below the dining room, a few steps down, and where we spend most of our time with a good view of the painting.

The house has been a work in progress since we moved in over the summer, but I'm so happy at how the painting has fit in and helped tie it all together. And though it is the kindness of the artist and not Disney magic, exactly, it still felt really special that she would travel from her NY home to CT after just wrapping up her stay at the F & W Fest to deliver and hang the painting.

This year's F & W Festival was amazing for us, and now we have a lasting visual to bring us back to remember our wonderful Disney trip. Wanted to share.
