(ARRRGHHH! I mistakenly put this into another thread. Sorry about that!)

There are a number of attractions that I would enjoy working on - SSE, POTC, HM, GMR to name a few. I once read an ex-castmember's story about working attractions in Fantasyland. As I recall, he wrote about doing a walk-thru of the attraction to check for trash, obstructions, etc. About a year ago, I came across a YouTube video where a castmember shot video of one of the Munchkins in The Great Movie Ride. I was wondering if it was permitted as a castmember to videotape the attractions you worked on. Good grief - I would love to spend after-hours (or before opening) time on my favorite rides, videotaping and getting close-ups of The Wicked Witch, Casablanca, The POTC Redhead, The GGG on the HM, the Roman scene on SSE. What a dream!

I'm sure it happens but it's most likely no allowed since it would be considered ruining the Magic showing attractions in a way they were not meant to be seen by guests. As far as taping a ride through of an attraction I'm sure the same restrictions apply for CMs and guests.

Yeah...we're not allowed to even really carry cell phones with us *on stage*, let alone video cameras...LOL...whoever taped that GMR/Munchkin thing must not really like their job; if WDW ever found out it is/was a current CM, they're gone.

If we *were* allowed, I'd have taped my morning walkthroughs of Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, walking around the entire WDWRR and stopping at each of the teepees in the Indian village, walking through Buzz Lightyear, maybe even going up on stage on CoP... :D

I definitely want to go up on stage at CoP! :secret: I would love to explore all it's nooks and crannies.

Actually, they've relaxed that "rule" a bit. A couple of years ago we had to turn the completely off. Last summer they relaxed it some to allow us to carry them "on-stage" (concealed) but they have to be on silent ring and we can get them out only for a time check.

At least that is the way it is for PAC now. Don't know the rules for attractions but I would imagine it is similar.

That's why I always get a chuckle on this forum when someone posts that they complain about seeing CM's using their cell phones. For instance, someone could have seen me with my phone out twice today on day parade and once on night parade. I don't / won't wear a watch and I was not in a parade position (Frontierland near Country Bears) where I couldn't see one of the park clocks. Wasn't using the phone for anything but a clock.

Actually, I should get to have mine on ring as my ringtone is the Soarin' music and it would be free attraction advertising if it rang. LOL

One of the great things about working for the mouse is that we occasionally get invited to go behind the scenes in an area other than our own. I have escorted visiting CMs through the bowels of the mountain at Expedition Everest, and have been escorted myself on a walk through the Haunted Mansion while all of the animatronics and audio was on. But the one thing we all understand is that to pull out a cell phone or camera is to invite instant termination of our employment. It simply isn't worth it.
