A Calvin & Hobbes Moment

I loved to read the Calvin & Hobbes comics but never thought I'd see the day where I identified with Calvin's dad. Thursday morning my son asks me, "Dad, can you get me some poster board?" I ask him when he needs it by and his response is, "My project's due tomorrow."

He did get it done but it took him all evening. And I bought a supply of poster board so next time I don't have to make a special trip just for poster board (and we did have a conversation about not waiting until the night before it's due to start a project.)

II have been through that last minute poster board evenings myself. I finally learned and get the mult-pack of white poster board at Walmart- give a few sheets out and then save the rest in a safe spot so don't have to run out to grab some in a last minute rush.

My brother pulled that with a science fair project about 10 years ago. It turned into a family project, trying to get stuff from his project to stick to that board. Much screaming and crying ensued.

Turned out that he won first place in the elementary school science fair.
