Oct. 24, 1958 – The Walt Disney Presents TV show aired “Rusty and the Falcon.”
Oct. 24, 1965 – The Orlando Sentinel ran the headline: “WE SAY OUR ‘MYSTERY’ INDUSTRY DISNEY” (an unknown buyer has been purchasing large parcels of land in the Orlando, Fl. area and rumors have been spreading about who it might be.
Oct. 24, 1968 – Voice actor, storyboard artist, and writer Mark Walton was born in Salt Lake City, Ut. He supplied the voices for Rhino in “Bolt” and Goosey Loosey in “Chicken Little.” His animation credits include “Meet the Robinsons,” “Chicken Little,” and “Tarzan.”
Oct. 24, 1969 – Russian cosmonauts Major General Georgiy Beregovoy of the Russian Air Force and scientist Konstantin Feoktistov began the Disneyland part of their two-week tour of the U.S.
Oct. 24, 1970 – Musician, songwriter, and producer Ted Bruner was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He’s written and co-produced songs for such Disney stars as Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus.
Oct. 24, 1971 – The first WDW fireworks display took place at the official dedication of the Polynesian Village Hotel (Known today a the Polynesian Resort).
Oct. 24, 1971 - Electrical Water Pageant debuted in the Seven Seas Lagoon at WDW.
Oct. 24, 1981 – The Disney TV show “A Disney Halloween” aired.
Oct. 24, 1982 – Epcot Center was officially dedicated by Disney Chairman E. Cardon Walker.
Oct. 24, 1983 – Adrienne Bailon, a member of Disney’s “The Cheetah Girls,” was born in N.Y.
