Oct. 16, 1960 – The Walt Disney Presents TV series kicked off its 7th season on ABC.
Oct. 16, 1966 – The Disney TV show “The 101 Problems of Hercules” aired.
Oct. 16, 1973 – Walt Disney Productions celebrated its 50th Anniversary.
Oct. 16, 1977 – Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter and guitarist John Mayor was born in Bridgeport, Ct. His version of the classic song “Route 66” appeared on the 2006 soundtrack for the Disney/Pixar “Cars.”
Oct. 16, 1977 – Actress Amanda Tepe was born in Cincinnati, Oh. Her Disney Channel credits include “Wizards of Waverly Place,” “Cory in the House,” and “That’s So Raven.”
Oct. 16, 1984 – Actor Tevor Blumas, who appeared in Disney’s 2005 “Ice Princess,” was born in London, Ontario, Canada.
Oct. 16, 1988 – Disney’s TV special “Disney’s All-American Sports Nuts” aired on NBC.
Oct. 16, 1992 – The Disney/Hollywood Pictures film “Consenting Adults” was released.
Oct. 16, 1996 – Imagineer X Atencio was among the 10 inducted as Disney Legends.
Oct. 16, 1997 – The 27th annual Walt Disney World/Oldsmobile Golf Classic began.
