Sept. 25, 1902 – Songwriter Al Hoffman was born in Minsk, Russia. Along with Mack David and Jerry Livingston, he would write such classic Disney tunes as “A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes” and “Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo.”
Sept. 25, 1925 – Disney’s Alice Comedy film “Alice Chops the Suey” previewed at Bard’s Hollywood Theater in Los Angeles, Ca.
Sept. 25, 1931 – Disney’s Mickey Mouse cartoon “Fishin’ Around” was released.
Sept. 25, 1942 – Disney’s Donald Duck cartoon “The Vanish Private” was released.
Sept. 25, 1944 – Actor Michael Douglas, who portrayed Danny in the 1972 live-action “Napoleon and Samantha,” was born in New Brunswick, N.J.
Sept. 25, 1946 – According to The Hollywood Reporter, many recording artists (such as Dinah Shore, the Merry Macs, Woody Herman, and the Modernaires) have already released versions of “Song of the South’s music even before the film’s premiere (which is scheduled for November.)
Sept. 25, 1953 – Marvin Davis (future Disney Legend) completed his second-generation “Hub” layout of the proposed Disneyland. He would continue to work closely with Walt Disney in designing and laying-out virtually every aspect of the park’s conceptualization and architecture.
Sept. 25, 1956 – Inventor, scientist, author and imagineer W. Daniel Hillis was born in Baltimore, Md. He would go on to work for Disney Imagineering.
Sept. 25, 1957 – The Disney TV show “Adventure in Wildwood Heart” aired.
Sept. 25, 1959 – ABC-TV’s Walt Disney Presents aired the episode “Tomorrow the Moon.”
