Sept. 6, 1993 – Disney’s animated TV series “Bonkers” went into syndication. (Ended Aug. 30, 1996)
Sept. 6, 1993 – Disney’s syndicated television series “Disney Adventures in Wonderland” began airing on the Disney Channel. (Ended Sept. 10, 1995)
Sept. 6, 1995 – The Disneyana Convention 1995 kicked off at WDW.
Sept. 6, 1996 – Disney’s 14th annual “night of Joy” began (dates 6, 7, and 13th) in the Magic Kingdom at WDW.
Sept. 6, 1996 – Disney’s animated TV series “Mighty Ducks” began airing on ABC. (Ended Aug. 30, 1997)
Sept. 6, 1996 – The “Disney Fair” Live Stage Show, exhibits, games, and shops made it debut at the Washington State Fair in Puyallup.
Sept. 6, 1996 – The “Night of Joy” began in the Magic Kingdom at WDW.
Sept. 6, 1999 –Disney’s two-hour cartoon block “Disney’s One Too” began airing on UPN-TV. (Ended Sept. 1, 2002)
Sept. 6, 2001 - A 24-karat gold sculpture called “Celebration Mickey…100 Golden Years of Magic” was the main auction item at the 2001 Official Disneyana Convention. The live auction, held at the Disneyland Resort started at 7:00pm. Valued at over $1 million, the 2-foot tall “Celebration Mickey” was created to observe Walt Disney’s 100th birthday. A portion of the proceeds would be donated to the Walt Disney Company’s Compassion Program for children with life-threatening illnesses.
Sept. 6, 2002 – The “Night of Joy” took center stage at WDW’S Magic Kingdom for the next 2 evenings. Performances on this day included Benjamin Gate, Plus One, Steven Curtis Chapman, Phat Chance, Kirk Franklin, Mary Mary, Natalie Grant, and Zoegirl.
