Howdy all;

On wait list for Boardwalk and SSR for over New Years. What's your sense on getting either?

What day are you going in - New Years day or Eve? Also how many days are you going for? We had a 10 night stay starting New Years Even in January 2010. We were at BLT lake view in a 1 bedroom but were unable to get the 1st or last night at BLT so we reserved at BWV.

We stayed the 1st night (NYE) at BW and then transferred to BLT the next day . We checked with the CR front desk when we checked in ask if we could get a room for our last night. They told us we had to check with DVC each day but when we got closer to the end of our stay we could check back with them again. To make a long story short we got to stay in our room at BLT the last night through the CR rather than DVC.

Those are tough dates! People are already in for the holiday week. One year we went in to SSR on 12/31. You never can tell about the wait list though. I hope you have secured a room somewhere just in case.

A couple of things. If you are willing to split your stay you might be able to get these resorts for part of the dates if not for all. Maybe you can get into one at the beginning of your dates and the other at the end. You might be able to get one of these resorts for a block of your dates if not the entire time. I would call DVC and check. Maybe you can get into one on the 29th or 30th and can stay at a Disney resort (if not a DVC) the first couple of days. If you stay at a Disney resort they will move your things into another Disney resort if you do a split stay.

The other thing is that you can call the resorts directly starting 7 days prior to your stay. You can stay on the wait list until a week before (request to do so) but after that you can call the resort to see if they have inventory they will release to you. The week before is cutting it close so have a back up plan in place (which you most likely do).
