...any Yeti updates? Just wondering if he's back, and if so, in what mode?

Mid-July he was there in strobe-light mode. Very hard to see him.

What's his status, is he broken?

When we went a couple of weeks ago, you had to know where he was to see him ... strobe wasn't even working more than one flash. And he looked like he'd been hanging on forever (very tired). Ah well ... this time it felt like they'd accellerated the chain pulling us up the hills, as it seemed just a tad faster than last time. BTMRR seemed that way, too.

Thanks, All! <sigh> There are certainly worse things in Life than having to resign oneself to another year of Disco Yeti. :coaster:

My first ever ride was with the actual working Yeti.... I have decided i am not going to go on it again until my last ride can be the working yeti... if that means i never go on it again, then oh well... AK ranks up to a 3 hour park trip during our entire 10 day stay... its just not that fun of a place for me. I like the Detroit Zoo better than animal kingdom

AK is broken and will more than likely be broken until Disney adds another e ticket to AK to make up for the capacity issues closing AK would cause...

The yeti will most likely never be fixed. They would have to shut down the ride and basically completely take it apart to do so.

No, they just put up a fake doll because the real Yeti had to make his rounds at DL mattlerhorn:D

A restored full-motion yeti will be in place within six months. Unfortunately, the attraction will have to be shut down during the installation process.

I would differ a bit on the number of hours [(I'd be more in the 4-5 range)...but most of that would be doing multiple rides on EE]...but I do agree on it not being as much fun...I'm not sure why but to us, it always feels a little hotter and more crowded than the other parks. The time we most enjoy it is late in the afternoon or at dusk (EEis wonderful then), but its seldom open at that time.

I said it last year: replace it with a real sasquatch...or Chuck Norris.

To the op: Yeti is still down this week, flashing strobe is still in place. :(

Great news, Ron! Thanks for that!

I think it seems more crowded because the pathways are narrower. Being fascinated with wildlife as I am, I don't find it less fun than the other parks, though.

Thanks, WDWdriver for giving me a hope, as well as a reason (as if any were needed) to come back within the year.

I would really love for them to fix the yeti. In it's full glory, it was an amazing effect. Now some people say they didn't even SEE the yeti. What a waste. :-(

Hi Ron :) Long time, no see!

Is that a "true" rumor"? Any idea where we can find out more? PM me if you need to. ;)
