I'm typically more of an eat-to-live than a live-to-eat person, but sometimes a person just feels the need for a favorite comfort food, you know? For me, those include lasagna, roast beef with mashed potatoes and gravy and curried chicken. For takeout, a local Mexican restaurant makes a stuffed avocado that is out-of-this-world (although definitely not in the low-fat category!)

What are your favorite comfort foods?

Depends on my mood! Usually something sweet, like ice cream, or something bready, like a biscuit. But I also love guacamole, and DH makes heavenly steaks on the grill and a to die for meatloaf.

My comfort foods are greasy junk. Pizza, cheese fries, that kind of thing. As far as home cooked, I have to go with Chicken Parmigiana. The snack that I always crave are BIG Cheez Its!!! But I only allow myself to have them once a month or every other month because I usually devour the whole box by day 2.

My comfort foods are: chili, meatloaf, pot roast, roast beef, mashed & baked potatoes.

Nothing like smelling that stuff cooking on a cold winter day. Plus, the leftovers aren't bad either:blush:

Stuffed Avacado? I have never even heard of that, but I think I just added it to my list because it sounds so good!

For me I think I would go with a really good cream soup (almost anything as long as it has a cheesy, creamy base) or really almost anything cheesy. That or baked goods. Not just anything sweet but something warm and very fattening.

Anything I can eat with my hands. I have no idea why I find that comforting. Weird!

Boiled crawfish. Or any other food I have to get in there with both hands to eat. Crab, lobster, shucking oysters....etc. Wearing a bib and using a mallet is just icing on the cake. :)

A Philly cheesesteak with mushrooms.

Tastykakes (any flavor).

Matzoh ball soup with lots of dill and carrots.

Oreos soaked in milk.

KFC chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy and cole slaw (that one, I always regret afterwards.)
