Not so Scary Halloween Party

We are planning on doing this party this year and would love to hear from some that have done it in the past. How do they know who has purchased tickets and who has just stayed in the park after closing? I have paid a lot for these tickets and was just wondering how Disney gets those out who have not paid for the party.

What are some must do's for this party? Also we will have a 3 year old. By being called Not so Scary Party I think he should be fine? Nothing really scary?

Are the rides crazy? I do not want to talk up the rides and then the lines be very long. We are doing the Animal Kingdom that day as well and planning another full day at the MK.

Everyone is given a wrist band that has a party ticket. Starting at 7 when the party begins CM's will begin asking everyone without a wrist band to leave. It usually takes an hour or so to usher everyone out.

The party is not scary at all and your 3 yr old should be fine unless frightened by the normal Disney villains. The parade is fun but chock full of villains.

Rides used to be walk on. That's not really the case any more as Disney now sells a lot more tickets to the party than they used to, but you'll still find ride wait times to be very manageable, and some stuff will be almost walk-on. The HM, understandably, tends to be one of the more crowded rides at the party. There's really not much else to do beside Trick or Treating, seeing the Boo-To-You Parade and the HalloWishes. Also, there's a show in front of the castle that's fun. I would recommend not making a full day, though, before the party or you won't get the most out of the party with a little one. Do a half day at AK, then let your child get a nap or rest for a while before coming into MK for the party. That should allow him to enjoy things more. Have fun!

I LOVE this party! I LOVE this parade! It is more fun if you go dressed in costume and get into the festivities!
I'm going October 10th dressed as Fairy Godmother and I can't wait!!

We have done it once before and are doing it again in 31 days!!! They put a bright green wrist band on us when we went to the party in 07. If you did not have a wristband on you were escorted to the front gate. The Halloween:mpumpkin::pumpkin::blackcat::ghost::fran k::malef: party is my favorite and I can't wait to do it again!!! We dressed up last time and are dressing up again this time. I made myself a pirate princess costume and my boys are going to be football players. I didn't want them to wear anything to hot as it is still very hot in September in Florida.

We went last year and I've got a 4yr old and 2 yr old. They loved it since all of us were dressed up in costumes and especially for the trick or treating. Rides were pretty much walk-ons (except HM of course), but we felt we could do the rides anytime. The parade and show in front of the castle were cool. There were a lot of characters around for pictures/signing (Seven Dwarfs, Aladdin/Jasmine/Gennie, Chip/Dale, etc.), and special dance parties (Woody/Jessie, Buzz) too.

We went two years ago and had a great time. Virtually no wait for the rides, and the fireworks and parade are reason enough to buy the tickets.

We went to this party on our DS's first trip in 2006 and loved it. Parade is great with the headless horseman, hallowishes. All the different costumes it's great. Going again this year!:mpumpkin:

Thanks everyone. Tickets are bought! Grandson costume is bought. I'm super excited! The rides are not really a big deal to me and I do not want to spend my time waiting in line for the rides. Just wanted to know would it be an option if something he really wants to ride.

You and your family will enjoy it. This is one of our favorite events to attend in all of Walt Disney World. The children get to go trick-or-treating in the Magic Kingdom; the parade is our favorite; and they usually have a dance party in Cosmic Ray's for the little ones.

When you arrive, the atmosphere is amazing. Ghostly images dance on the Main Street buildings. There is mist everywhere. They play a different music loop on Main Street than the traditional one.

In the stores, CMs wait until they're sure the non-event guests have departed before stocking the shelves with MNSSHP memorabilia.

Because tickets are limited, ride wait times are usually short. I don't think there are any fastpasses, but you won't need them.

Most rides are open but a few are closed. Pick up a Halloween Party map as you go in and it will show you parade and fireworks times also. Some food service is closed. We have gone to MNSSHP at least once the last four years and will be there again first week of October. :mickey:
